Our Creative and Visual Arts programs are designed to introduce important art and engineering techniques and concepts to students in a fun way. Creativity and imagination are always encouraged, and all levels of ability are welcome.
This class is an introduction to sculpture, using a variety of materials from wire to paper mache. Students are inspired by the work of famous sculptors as they explore making art in 3 dimensions. This class is appropriate for all grades, and projects are tailored for different ability levels.
This class introduces students to a variety of interesting projects and media while emphasizing creativity, color theory, form, and composition. Students create collage, paintings, paper mosaics, and even a giant sidewalk chalk mural while learning about different artists.
Students create their own comic books in this fun and creative class. Students practice writing skills including narrative, dialogue, and character development as they have fun drawing their own world in comics. Grades 1-6 are welcome.
This class emphasizes fundamentals of drawing such as line, shape, and tone, and class projects include illustrations, still life and portraits. All materials are supplied and students take home their own sketchbooks at the last class.
Students explore color, application and brush techniques and study the works of famous painters in this acrylics class. All supplies are provided.
A fun class for all creative fashionistas! Students may create jewelry, T Shirts, purses, and more in this class recommended for 2nd through 6th graders.
This is a wonderful class for 2nd-6th graders that builds logic, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Students use hands-on learning to to dust for fingerprints, build a DNA model , and pull footprints! They solve puzzles, decode cryptic messages, and play games like Clue to use problem solving techniques and figure out mysteries.
One of our most popular classes, students study different architectural principals and build Lego versions of them! Basic structural engineering such as support, foundation, extensions, and expansions are taught They will also learn simple machine physics and how to build samples from ordinary items. This is an excellent class to fine tune problem solving skills.
